Portraits

'Holidays. The album is on brief hiatus as I've been recording myself and my good friend Scott for the "Portraits" compilation that Greg Edwards (Off The Air) is putting together. It's an exciting project involving a multitude of artists from the Modesto area, as well as the San Francisco Bay area, and even a few out of state artists. Along with the compilation's release there will be an art show at Deva Cafe in Modesto. Be sure to find out more as the project's release draws nearer Here.

With that said I have a couple of shows lined up, one of which is the "Portraits" Reception scheduled for May 14th. Details here.

Tracking

I've spent my evenings this past week or so cooped up in the big upstairs bathroom tracking parts for Spinner's Yarn. So far I've recorded nine skeletons of songs, and I'm very excited about where they are going. Tonight after recording a couple tracks for Scott Bartenhagen, I took a break from the claustrophobia of the bathroom and moved the gear downstairs to record a piano part for Nick Shattell. After I finished recording that I recorded one of the two piano based songs on my album. I've got a busy several days ahead of me, but after that It's right back to the grind and hopefully I'll finish out the tracking over the next couple weeks with more piano parts, electric guitar parts, and an accordion part. Until then, I'll be doing other things and wishing that I was recording.
